AmCham Libya was pleased to make a presentation at the Business Technology Banking Forum held at the Corinthia Hotel from December 18-20, 2023. The topic of the presentation was Perspectives on SME Development in Libya and it covered challenges that SMEs in Libya face as well as some potential solutions. This is an important area of development in Libya, and AmCham is honored to be part of the discussion.
AmCham Libya was pleased to host a briefing about U.S. company involvement in Libya's agriculture sector. The sector holds great promise for U.S. companies, and during the briefing we heard from U.S. companies active in the sector as well as Libyan companies that have chosen to bring U.S. products into Libya. In addition, we heard from the U.S. Embassy and the Department of Agriculture regarding support they can give to interested companies. AmCham Libya was pleased to host a briefing from LIGOS, a Libyan oil services company that has recently purchased U.S. drilling rigs for use in Libya. The National Oil Company (NOC) has indicated an urgent need for drilling services which presents an opportunity for U.S. companies. This briefing offered valuable insights into this promising area for any company that is involved in the oil sector in Libya or follows developments in Libya's economic development in general.
