AmCham signs MoU with Presidential Council
On September 26 in New York City, American Chamber of Commerce in Libya (AmCham Libya) members had the opportunity for an interactive session with Mohamed Menfi, President of the Libyan Presidential Council, during the week he was participating in UN General Assembly meetings. At the conclusion of the session, an MoU between AmCham and the Presidential Council was signed. Senior executives from leading U.S. companies participated in the event, including from GE Vernova, Citibank, Hill International, Merck, GardaWorld Federal Services, Cudd Well Control and UNIFI Communications. AmCham supports Libyan Renewable Energy Authority in regional presentation to U.S. suppliers
On August 15, AmCham was pleased to support REAOL (Renewable Energy Authority of Libya) in a regional presentation organized by the U.S. Department of Commerce Commercial Service and the RE+ event management team in order to introduce U.S. suppliers to the renewable energy opportunities in North Africa. The webinar highlighted renewable energy opportunities in Libya, Egypt and Algeria. REAOL is participating in a Libyan delegation to RE+ in Anaheim, CA, from September 9-12, 2024, and will be exploring partnerships with U.S. companies attending or exhibiting at the show.
U.S. Embassy Commercial Officer meets with with AmCham and LCOGRE (Libyan Council for Oil, Gas and Renewable Energies)
On July 3, the U.S. Embassy Commercial and Economic Officer, David Morrison, met with AmCham and a group from LCOGRE (Libyan Council for Oil, Gas and Renewable Energies). LCOGRE represents many of the key companies involved in the Libyan energy sector, and its members participated actively in the OTC (Offshore Technology Conference) and RE+ renewable energies conference that AmCham sent delegations to.
