AmCham was pleased to organize a briefing on current U.S. Government initiatives in Libya related to the commercial sector. Participants included Paul Oliva, Senior Commercial Officer and First Secretary for Commercial Affairs of the U.S Department of Commerce and Mike LaRocque, Economic and Commercial Officer at the U.S. Embassy to Libya. Paul and Mike presented the current priorities of the U.S. Government in Libya, and emphasized the importance of commercial activities to the U.S. administration. AmCham members were able to ask their questions which ranged from topics such as AmCham events that the Embassy plans to attend in Libya, the U.S. visa ban on Libyans, and the recently announced Libyan unified development program.

AmCham was honored by the opportunity to arrange this important meeting.
