On September 26 in New York City, American Chamber of Commerce in Libya (AmCham Libya) members had the opportunity for an interactive session with Mohamed Menfi, President of the Libyan Presidential Council, during the week he was participating in UN General Assembly meetings. At the conclusion of the session, an MoU between AmCham and the Presidential Council was signed.

Senior executives from leading U.S. companies participated in the event, including from GE Vernova, Citibank, Hill International, Merck, GardaWorld Federal Services, Cudd Well Control and UNIFI Communications.

The MoU includes elements such as facilitating U.S. business participation in Libya by addressing any potential challenges they may encounter, enhancing payment mechanisms that support commercial transactions between the two countries and supporting trade delegations between Libya and the United States.

Other important attendees of the event were Acting Minister of Oil and Gas Khalifa Abdelsadek and Libyan Ambassador to the UN Taher El Sonni.
