SUMMARY:Briefing from Abbott on groundbreaking artificial heart program in Libya
DESCRIPTION:AmCham was pleased to organize a briefing from AmCham Member Abbott on its groundbreaking artificial heart program in Libya. Abbott\, a leading U.S. healthcare company\, was pleased to share with AmCham members the recent implementation of its LVAD artificial heart program in Libya. Designed for patients with advanced heart failure\, this type of technology was previously not available in Libya\, resulting in either expensive and complicated treatment outside of Libya\, or the death of the patient. Abbott invested in the training of a team of surgeons from Tripoli and Benghazi\, and these teams are now able to perform this life-saving treatment in Libya. This results in significant financial savings\, capacity building for Libyan doctors\, and\, most importantly\, saving Libyan lives.AmCham was honored by the opportunity to arrange this important meeting.

SUMMARY:Briefing on Employer of Record (EOR) and Immigration Services in Libya
DESCRIPTION:AmCham Libya was pleased to organize an online briefing on Employer of Record (EOR) and immigration services in Libya. The briefing was provided by Ahmed Ghattour & Co and Ernst & Young\, and described their EOR and immigration services to support international companies in hiring and managing employees in Libya without the need to establish a legal entity. Through the EOR model\, Ahmed Ghattour & Co becomes the legal employer of the staff member\, handling all local compliance\, payroll\, taxes\, social security\, HR administration and visa/immigration issues\, while the original employer retains full operational control over the employee. It was a very informative session about a topic that is of great importance to any US company looking to enter the Libyan market. AmCham thanks Ahmed Ghattour & Co and EY for their time and effort to present these solutions. \n \n
